Ferrari?s Chairman and President Luca di Montezemolo recently sat down for a two-hour meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Di Montezemolo spoke at Stanford University, and shared with more than 600 students the details about the recent meeting he had with Apple CEO Tim Cook, and the similarities between the two companies.
The Ferrari chairman praised Apple for its inspiring management and leadership style, and?its employees? commitment to producing world-class products and the continuation to carry on the legacy of Apple?s late co-founder, Steve Jobs.
?When you?ve got a leader in a company like Steve Jobs, people have big respect and big gratitude for what he?s done?, ?said di Montezemolo.
Di Montezemolo said?the two companies shared similarities and values for passion and design, as well as parallels between his role at Ferrari and Jobs? leadership of Apple.
After his meeting with Cook?di Montezemolo came away with a few insights into Apple?s methods and goals, specifically the company?s focus on simplicity, design and ?a passion for product?, as reported by Wired.
The Ferrari chairman said he was ?impressed? by the ?availability and openness? of Cook. ??We?re building cars, they build computers,? he said. ?But Apple and Ferrari are connected by the same passion, the same love for the product, maniacal attention to technology, but also to design.?
